ProCOT Streamlines Propane Vehicle Incentive Program for Business Fleets

As many might be aware, the Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) offers incentives to business fleets in Texas looking to make the switch to propane.  Texas business fleets who are “new” to propane may be eligible for this program. The Council provides $5,000 for conversions and $7,500 for OEM’s with a cap of $15,000 per business fleet. The funds are seed money for fleets for their first two or three propane vehicles.

With the new streamlined process, the first step is getting pre-qualified. The Council can ensure that fleets have met all the qualifications like verifying the vehicle is certified, they are the proper size fleet, are under 40,000 miles, and are new to propane.

Once fleets are pre-qualified, fleets can only then complete a reservation form. A reservation reserves funds for 90 days to ensure fleets do not make the investment and order a kit and then find out the funds are already gone.

Now prospective fleets must submit a purchase order or sales order for the aftermarket propane conversion kit or propane vehicle they ordered with their reservation form. They cannot reserve funds without a copy of a P.O.

With this new process, ProCOT believes that down the road this will ameliorate the cyclical waiting list that program has had in the past.
