Alternative Fueling Facilities Program (AFFP)
The Alternative Fueling Facilities Program grant funded by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is designed to provide funding for public and private refueling stations in the Clean Transportation Zone. Priority is given to public refueling stations, but private stations may apply. Private stations (e.g. Eanes ISD) have been awarded in the past.
Grant application deadline is March 18, 2020.
Clean School Bus Program
$6.2M is available for FY2020 from the TCEQ. Replace an old diesel bus with a new propane school bus under this STATEWIDE program.
More program details are coming this December 2019.
Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (includes Propane)
Last fiscal year, school districts in the Clean Transportation Zone like Leander ISD and Georgetown ISD were able to leverage these funds to replace old school buses with cleaner propane school buses. You could, too. This grant is not competitive and is first come, first serve.
School district must replace a MY 2007 or older.
The older the bus, the higher the payout.
